Our ProTECT LEV service plan has been carefully designed to ensure your LEV fume and dust extraction systems are being expertly maintained throughout their working lives.

From initial installation to ongoing helpdesk support – you can have peace of mind that you legally comply with the latest HSE COSHH Regulations under HSG258 guidelines.

Using the latest testing methods and certification, we check the effectiveness of your LEV systems, including current airflow and pressure measurements. Control effectiveness is assessed using a smoke test or Tyndall lamp.

What is P601 certified?

All BOFA field engineers are P601 qualified. This is a course recognised by the BOHS (British Occupational Hygiene Society). On the course, the engineers learn about correct testing methods, extraction best practices and how to recognise inefficiencies or faults in extraction systems and their installations. The course is completed by passing two final written examinations, designed to test the knowledge of the engineers preparing them to conduct official LEV examinations. Once the tests are passed, the engineer must then complete several LEV examinations in which he/she will be required to complete in-depth reports, including all information about the testing method, the test results and any recommendations to increase efficiency (if required). The reports are audited by an examining body before the engineers are finally given the P601 pass certificate.
