Josh Evans
MEng (Hons) IChemE
Applications Engineer and Head of Learning

I joined the BOFA team in September 2017 as applications engineer, having gained a first class masters in Chemical Engineering from the University of Nottingham, accredited by the Institute of Chemical Engineers. This gives me a solid foundation in fluid dynamics, particle mechanics and adsorption chemistry - the key components of any good extraction system.

Key responsibilities

One of my key responsibilities is providing pre-sales technical advice to sales engineers and customers to determine which BOFA system is best for their specific application. I develop and deliver training programmes both internally to BOFA employees so they have a deeper understanding of the extractors we make and externally to OEMs so that end users are provided with the best system for their application.

As BOFA supplies units to a vast array of industries, every day I interpret and understand new applications in order to answer technical enquiries. This means no two days are the same!

Richard Heard Technical Product Manager

I've worked at BOFA since 2005, beginning my journey in the Goods In/ Despatch department. From here I moved into Production, building systems specifically for the laser industry. I transferred into R&D where I focused on new product development for key customers before being promoted to my current role.

I have accumulated a wealth of application and industry knowledge that I directly apply when assessing fume extraction requirements and I enjoy working with customers to identify possible solutions for their specific requirements.

Key responsibilities

I oversee the technical team, ensuring that enquiries are responded to and efficient solutions are provided. I have a huge pool of knowledge about BOFA product development built up over many years, which is essential when responding to a variety of enquiries.

Arran Morgan
MSc
Commercial Product Manager

I joined the BOFA team in January 2020, having previously worked as a lead radiation physicist and later a product manager in the nuclear industry. My previous roles exposed me to working with multiple engineering disciplines as well as project and programme managers to enable task prioritisation in-line with customer’s needs. Understanding the customer’s requirements from a technical, commercial and strategic aspect is something I am passionate about. This knowledge enables a product and solution truly fit for purpose to be produced, and will lead to a strong supplier customer relationship.

Key responsibilities

My key responsibilities include recognising our customers’ needs and addressing any gaps in the product range, reviewing and assessing proposed developments, gathering customer feedback to ensure the product is continually fit for purpose, and project management of changes to the BOFA product line.

Ross Stoneham
MEng (Hons)
Product Manager

I joined the BOFA team in July 2019 as Engineering Manager, having spent my previous working years within the Automotive Industry. My traditional engineering degrees led me into a variety of design, system and quality engineering roles across a variety of different tiered and sized companies.
After a year and a half of Engineering Management at BOFA, leading all new product design – I converted over to Product Management to lead the strategic entry into our key growth markets.

Key responsibilities

One of my key responsibilities is conducting detailed market research, collating voice of customer and distilling them into a clear product strategy. I lead the strategic planning and product support for our growth markets such as Additive Manufacturing, Dental and the Automotive market – moving quickly, adapting and delivering agile projects for new market success. As well as gathering ongoing product data in parallel, ensuring that our current portfolio remains industry leading and commercially competitive.

Judi O’Ceallaigh Assistant Product Manager

I started as an apprentice programming CNC lathes while achieving a BTEC and HNC in Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering. I then joined an engineering company in the nuclear sector, working in various roles (Repairs Co-ordination, Support Engineer, Engineering Services Team Leader, Scheduler) providing me with a rounded experience. However, my drive and enthusiasm afforded me growth opportunities beyond my formal remit; hosting customer events, coaching apprentices, graduates and interns, continuous improvement projects, sales support and training, as well data and process analysis (namely surrounding product management) supported by business analysis training with the BCS (British Computer Society).

Key responsibilities

My role is to support the Product Management function, strengthening our core processes and carrying out data analysis (market, product lifecycle and customer focused) to ensure we offer the best products to suit our customers’ needs. It’s important to me that we continue to listen to and grow with our customers, anticipating and responding to evolution in technological trends.

Bruno Cinto Product Engineer

I began my career at BOFA in January 2018 as a factory operative, assembling and setting up our extractors. I then moved into the Technical department and now have detailed technical diagnosis and electrical knowledge of our full range of products.

My previous experience in a customer service role enables me to strategise and prioritise effectively to accomplish multiple tasks and stay calm under pressure. Being highly organised and efficient means that I’m able to accomplish objectives with enthusiasm and precision.

Key responsibilities

My role sees me based in the office where I work with internal and external customers to address technical queries through email and over the phone, including fault finding and diagnostics. I also aid in the creation of technical documents, including training materials; identify correct part numbers; and produce warranty orders.

In the future I will visit customer sites to carry out LEV services and also to help maintain units.

Leonardo Rodriguez Product Support Engineer

I started my career at BOFA in 2016 in the wiring department. I began working on the smaller BOFA units, where I learnt about the products and worked my way up to the bigger units. I progressed to become a departmental team leader before moving into my current role. During this time I also completed a university course in electronic engineering.

Key responsibilities

I help customers take care of their extractors, support them with technical issues and provide information that they need. I also respond to technical calls, emails and chats, and create various technical documents, such as training materials, and issue warranty orders.
