Change of NRTL for products tested to UL standards

Affecting: All BOFA “UL” rated products.

Implemented by: 01/04/2021

Description of change:

From 1st April 2021, BOFA will have completed a transition of nationally recognised testing laboratories (NRTL) from UL to METlabs. The role of an NRTL is to provide testing to specific industry standards set out by the UL organisation. NRTLs are given the right to conduct this testing by the United States Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). Only OSHA-recognised laboratories are permitted to approve units to UL standards. METlabs are one of many companies on the list approved to do so.

All of the same safety standards for North American and Canadian approvals previously met by UL are now monitored and tested by METlabs. The only change that can be seen is on the logo on the product labels, as shown below.

BOFA International Ltd does not take any liability for any further amendments or approvals after product sale.
